The 3D animatic has been especially useful for me in working out my car animation timings for the races. I found it an issue to get the balance correct without the shots being too long or short as the the track itself was not long enough to take the cars speed and have enough time for all the shots from my original storyboards so this will have to be re scaled. During this animatic I also experimented with camera shot movements though with some feedback from, having less movements shots were much better so I kept with what I had in the 2D animatic as people liked it. I also played around with sound effects which I think suited the tone of the film, I gathered up 20 or more tracks of a several genres just to work out what I think worked best. The soundtrack was from YouTube's free music library.
The music search for my animation is ongoing process but it's one I've been continouisly looking for as I continue with the film. I have now looked into 4 to five minute single tracks as I felt that having two separate songs was clashing too much even from the same genre and weren't complementing the story. From the current sound, I feel it was a bit too slow for the action and without any form of narration didn't add any engagement. I have since started searching more into songs with vocals that would really match my story
